Trading is one of the best parts of card collecting. Trading in person is great, but you might not find the person who wants your cards at that time, so in comes online trading. The issue with online trading is that it is highly recommended to use a middle man to avoid being scammed online. Companies that offer trading services are charging exorbitant fees and at Card Yard, we want to change that!
All trading with users of the site will happen through our yards dashboard. At yards.cardyard.shop. You will need a user profile to start, which is a fairly simple process.
Below is a step by step guide on how to use our new trading feature:
Preparing to Trade
1. After adding cards to your collection with "Add a Card", click on My Collection.
2. Once you open My Collection, select a card that you want to list for trade!
3. Select a card, press card value and that will be what other traders will see what YOU value your card at. There is no automated system that will change this, if the value of the card rises or falls, you can always change this. If you are unsure of a price, send us an email at info@cardyard.shop and we can try to help you out!
4. Press List for Trade and then select Yes.
Finding a Trade
5. When your cards are listed for trade, any other user can find them in our Trade Finder tab. Sort by card type, user name, etc..
6. Once you find the card you are looking for, Press Start Trade or just go to our Trade Yard and start making your trade. You can add cards or cash to make it even for each side. (Note that if you didn't set a value on your card, it will appear as 0.) Once you are ready to send a trade, just press send trade offer and the other user will be alerted.
7. The trade review screen will allow you to see sent offers, counter offers and accepted trades.
8. When your trade has been accepted, it will go to our Trade Fulfillment page. You will get an invoice from Card Yard which will include any cash involved in the trade, shipping to and from Card Yard and the trade fee. Once the invoice is paid, you will be ready to ship to Card Yard. If you would like to use your own shipping label, that is fine, but we will provide one if needed. We will cover trade fees at the end of this tutorial.
Trade Invoices
As stated earlier, once your trade is accepted, you will get an invoice in your email to complete before you can send your card to Card Yard. I just wanted to go a little more in depth about what to expect for this process and how we will be calculating fees.

Shipping- Each Trader will be expected to pay for shipping to and from Card Yard. If you provide your own label for sending your card to Card Yard, then you will only be invoiced for one shipping label for Card Yard to the other trader.
- Cash Involved- Any Cash involved in the trade will be secured through Card Yard and paid out to the other party via Paypal.
- Trade Fee- Each trade will have a $6 flat rate service fee attached.
